Feel free to read the “about me” section to the right if you wish to get some back story, otherwise I will jump right on into blog!

I have religiously read blogs for years, about food, fitness, and health in general and just as I have learned so much from each of them, I thought perhaps I too could have something to offer the internet world. And here is what I have to offer you, an inside peak at a world that not everyone knows about but most speculate about, the world of fashion modeling.

After high school I signed a modeling contract with Elite Model Management and moved to New York. Before this move I could not care less about nutrition and could not cook more then boxed macaroni. But as you can imagine my life soon became surrounded by thoughts of weight, measurements, and nutrition. I lived in a townhouse with 11 other models and learned to cook from them. Since they were from all over the world I got a very diverse culinary education in a short amount of time, and thus my passion for food was born. When I decided to return to college I immediately dropped my major of psychology and declared a Dietetics major.

During my time living in NY I saw both extremely healthy diets, and extremely unhealthy dangerous ones. Although I am learning a ton about nutrition through my coursework I feel that the best education I have received about food was through this life experience in modeling. Life experience is always better then book learning.

I have taken a few months off of modeling to focus on school, but the itch is back and I am currently working on some connections in Chicago. I will let you know how it goes!
