A Rocky Recap

Hey everyone! It’s good to be back home! I was going to post a recap of the trip yesterday but I really wanted to get the Model U post up since I jipped you on it before I left town.

So if I didn’t mention this, the trip was for Bret’s (boyfriend if your new to model behavior) mother’s wedding. It was a beautiful location for a wedding, up in the mountains in a meadow. Here is a picture of the ceremony (check out that incredible view!!):DSCN0685

The beautiful girl in the red dress is Bret’s new step sister, and just my luck she just graduated from UNL in May with a degree in …DEITETICS!! We bonded over it instantly and I spent the weekend picking her brain for tips on professors to avoid, clubs to join, and information on internships. She is moving to Kansas this weekend to begin her internship and I must admit I’m a bit jealous :) I can’t wait to be at the point she is at!

Ok back to the wedding! They wedding party rode into the meadow in this beautiful horse drawn carriage, and Bret arrived in style right next to the driver (show off)DSCN0681

The weekend was very planned out so Bret and I are going to go up again soon just the 2 of us and see more of the area, go hiking and horseback riding and such. His family owns a charming cabin near Estes Park so we can stay there when we go back.

He cleans up nice :)

As I had guessed, the food was rich and heavy and the wine was in no short supply. By the time we left all I wanted was salad and fruit! I’m definitely keeping my food intake extra fresh and healthy to make up for this weekend, and I have no desire to drink any time soon :)

Also, we didn’t have time for any runs while we were up there, probably fine since in that altitude we wouldn’t have made it very far anyway, so I really need to get back in the swing of things with that too, we did sneak in a few walks though, so pretty! This means I WILL be getting that gym membership soon, this weekend hopefully!

Oh and speaking of the altitude, the low point of the weekend was an insane nose bleed I got on the way back. I haven’t had a nosebleed since I was little and this one was so bad it ruined my shirt before we could pull off into a rest area!! I think it freaked Bret out a bit (it looked horrible, the people at the rest area were jumping out of my way as I walked toward the bathroom with blood all over me) but it ended after a few minutes and has been fine ever since!

And randomly, this is the prettiest church ever, I wanted to go inside but there was a wedding taking place, so I just took pictures :)

I’m off to do my prelabs for Chemistry! Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!
