I had such a nice night last night! Bret was in Omaha helping his step dad paint and my cousin had to work 5-11pm so I had the house alllll to myself, very rare indeed! After work I went to the gym and ran the 2 miles on my training schedule. I didn’t bother to put on my heart rate monitor since it was such a short workout and because I knew my stats would be all wonky from my illness. I did 2 miles in 29 minutes…:( If I wasn’t sick I would feel really bad about that time, but I’m just glad I finished. I walked a good portion of it, I felt like I was doing a full on sprint when I was going 5.3 mph!! Cold cold go away, and NEVER COME BACK!! After that I headed home, showered, put on my jammies, and watched Sex and the City reruns all night. Bliss.
You know it’s a relaxing night when the fuzzy socks come out! I call these my fruity pebble socks, they are SSOO soft and warm! I got them from Bret’s 7 year old sister for Christmas
Yesterdays “dinner” was extremely random, my appetite has been really odd with this illness and last night all I wanted was a smoothie, I mixed up this concoction in my new Vitamix 5200!!! I’m totally kidding, I was not one of the lucky few to receive this blender…but perhaps if I link to them enough they’ll get the hint and send me one?
I need one because this smoothie was quite chunky with whole ice cubes…ggrr…still good though!

Today’s workout went better then yesterday, my heart rate was much more stable but I was having a hard time getting enough oxygen because my throat is swollen and my chest/lungs congested. I also had to take a few breaks to go to the locker room and uh….”clear out” my nose and lungs. HOT!

Tomorrows 5 miler might be tough, I will be ok going the 5 miles I just don’t know how the “sprints” will go. I don’t want to push to hard and make myself sicker!
What are your plans for tonight? I decided not to drink tonight since I’m not feeling 100% better. Kind of strange for me since alcohol has been a major factor the past 6 New Year’s eve’s…wait, I shouldn’t admit that since I’ve only been 21 for one of those
Bret doesn’t want to get too crazy since we have a 5 miler in the morning so I think we are going to go to dinner at our fav Indian restaurant The Oven (I’ll try to snap pics if it’s not too busy) and then head to my best friends house (Nick, you’ve probably seen his comments on the blog, HI NICK!!!) for a low key night.
For some reason breakfast just isn’t really appealing to me so I think I’m going to wait and just have lunch in about an hour, I told you my appetite was messed up from the cold! I’ll post lunch before I head to work, have a great day morning/afternoon!
